Paul played a great set of Beatles and Wings songs to a soldout show at Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in Tinley Park Illinois. Paul was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988 as a member of the Beatles and again as a solo artist in 1999. Pictured are Rusty Anderson, Paul and Brian Ray.

Fest For Beatles Fans, 2016: Ken Dashow Welcomes Denny Laine

Though not on the Fest's official program, Denny Laine, Paul McCartney's right-hand man in the 1970s, stopped by to say hello on his way to a gig on Long Island. Ken DAshow expressed hope that Laine would return as an official guest at a future New York-area convention. He was last an official New York Metro "Fest guest" in 2010.

Denny Laine was a member of Paul McCartney's wings from the group's formation in 1971 until its breakup in 1980. (Although Wings went through several personnel changes, another Denny, drummer Denny Seiwell, is the only member of the original lineup that left before the group split.) Laine, a former member of the Moody Blues, co-wrote numerous Wings songs with Paul McCartney and sang lead on some Wings songs ("Time To Hide," from 1976, was his best moment as a frontman). He also worked on Paul's 1982 solo album Tug of War. If there is anyone in Paul's post-Beatles career who was important to him other than Linda herself, Denny Laine is it.

Fest For Beatles Fans, 2015: Laurence Juber

Laurence Juber, the lead guitarist in the final lineup of Paul McCartney's seventies group Wings, returned to the Fest For Beatles Fans and played a set of acoustic instrumentals. Yes, he played Beatles songs, but he also played other classic-rock favorites, such as the Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again."

Juber appeared on Wings' disco-salsa single "Goodnight Tonight" and the Wings album Back To the Egg album, both from 1979.
